FAQ
What litters are available right now?
We are excited to announce our 2022/2023 PUP CULTURE litter! This is eleven gorgeous babies of F1b sheepadoodle puppies from our Standard F1 CKC registered Sheepadoodle, Dexi (Mom @60 lbs) and Dak (Dad @60 lbs), an AKC registered standard beautiful poodle . These babies were born November 29th and ready for their homes around January 24th. We are currently accepting deposits and track their progress on our Facebook page so please follow Eastman Doodle Love on FB for updates!
If you are searching for a goldendoodle, we have retired our goldendoodle, Ellie, so she will not be having any more litters but will be an amazing aunt to Dexi's babies!
Are the parents health tested?
Yes! At Eastman Doodle Love we believe in being proactive in ensuring a healthy dog and healthy puppies. We make sure BOTH parents are genetically tested through Embark for the advancement of quality dogs. Both parents have cleared genetic screenings. Dexi has her OFA certifications for hips and elbows and is CKC registered. Dak is AKC registered as well.
What is ENS and do you do it?
Yes! ENS, or Early Neurological Stimulation, is a scientific process that enhances the natural abilities of dogs from the very first days of life through 16 days old. There are 5 key mild forms of stimulation leading to "stress" and leads to faster maturation and better problem-solving abilities later in life including improved cardiovascular performance (heart rate), stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. Stimulation areas include:
1) Tactical stimulation (specifically between the toes)
2) Head held erect
3) Head pointed down
4) Supine position
5) Thermal stimulation
These stimulations are aimed at enhancing the neurological system which improves the growth and development of the pup's immune system, cardiovascular system and stress tolerance. We do these exercises daily from days 3-16 as well as our routine handling, play socialization and bonding.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes! Eastman Doodle Love will always welcome our babies back into our home as we ensure that no dog will ever enter a shelter for the life of the dog. We will allow for the return of the puppy in the first 2 weeks of being homed for a full refund, minus the deposit, due to genetic health issues that is verified from a certified vet. Our contract also includes a MANDATORY spay/neuter contract by at least 2 years old.
How does puppy picking work?
Since we only have one litter at a time, we spend a significant amount of one-on-one time with each dog through our Puppy Culture enrichment program. Because of this, we know the personalities of each dog and we try and align your unique family needs with the right personality of each of our babies. When you place your deposit, you are put in line for puppy selection. We encourage this to happen in-person at our home in Midlothian, TX, but have made arrangements virtually for our out-of-state families. We will always Facetime as well! We want to know you as much as you want to know us. We have been blessed with so many great families in our lives. We want to make sure the right puppy gets in the right family! We do our best to align requests for gender but no guarantees are made as it depends on the picking order. Puppy-picking happens at week 7 so we can perform personality testing (Volhard method) to ensure the right puppy gets to the right family. We do offer a $500 guarantee pick of the litter spot (after breeder selection) per litter to guarantee first pick if so inclined.
How much are your puppies?
UPDATE - Unfortunately for us, the market is currently oversaturated and has forced us to lower our prices. Our last few puppies are $1500. THIS IS HALF THE PRICE OF PREVIOUS LITTERS!
Our current sheepadoodle litter is $3000 a puppy. We understand this a large investment. And we invest a lot into our puppies. From the quality, high-end dog food, vet, health testing and medical investments, we put a lot into our puppies. Most importantly, we put our time. Every puppy has individualized attention and age-appropriate training every. single. day. They live in our home with us and are a part of our family before they become part of yours. We also offer a $250 teacher and first responder discount.
How do I get on your waitlist?
Since we only do one litter at a time, usually only once a year, we don't expect families to wait around for our litters, although some do! Because of this, we don't accept wait list deposits like other breeders. Instead, we formally announce our litteron our Facebook page and then accept only 4 deposits before the litter is born. Once we know our babies are happy and healthy, we open up the list for the rest of the litter. This is a very intentional process and one that is very different than most breeders.
Once a mutual decision has been made that we are a fit, we accept a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to reserve your spot in line for puppy-picking. This goes into the final payment. ($2,750 - $500 = $2,250 at final pick-up). You will receive a receipt of payment with your picking spot number. Once deposits are made we encourage visits to see the puppies! We accept check, cash or Venmo for deposits. We do offer payment options but all puppies must be paid for (and cleared) by the time they are picked up
How do you give back?
We are passionate about dogs and finding homes for all dogs. 10% of the sale of every dog is donated to a variety of 501c3 non-profits that support the animal community and all of the great work that is done every day. We focus on donating goods to shelters and to therapy programs. We are thankful for the families like you who make this possible!
